What is a pet microchip?

May is Microchip Awareness Month and we want to help you become aware of the importance of microchips. A pet microchip is a small, electronic device encased in a protective shell.

A microchip is the size of a grain of rice and is implanted under the skin of pets to provide a means of identification once the pet is scanned. A microchip is the gold standard for reuniting lost pets with owners but only if the chip is registered! Otherwise a microchip cannot be traced back to an owner. Continue…

Always have friendly, loving, knowledgeable doctors who spend adequate time with our pets. I love how I can see they actually care for our furry family members. The experience at this office is superb. From being immaculately clean to the care and candor provided by the staff, you have made a lifelong customer. I would easily drive 100 miles to obtain the level of customer service provided by this practice. Well done!

I called afterwards because I thought I missed some instructions and the front desk was able to answer my question immediately but the Dr. also called me back to clear up any confusion. My cat is 19 years old and not once did they tell me to euthanize her because of her age. The nurse who was handling her was the best, she treated my cat with care and understanding.

So happy we were referred to this office, very satisfied with the experience. Really concerned about leaving our vet in AZ. We are happy now. Everyone was caring and professional. Would highly recommend this office.

You do everything well! From the second you walk in the door you are greeted by name, told "we have you checked in," etc. The veterinary assistant was so great! Dr. Krick is wonderful as is Dr. Peterson. They both share knowledge and listen well.
